when designing this web site i made the decision to use very few images, other than the actual showcased web site screenshots.
in the end no images were used other than the screen shots.
there was two reasons for this: to keep the web site simple and not detract from the images of the sites being showcased; and to keep the overall page size down so that larger screenshots of the web sites could be used and not take forever to load the page.
i don't think the page design is hurt by the lack of images, and the use of css to affect the letter spacing of the header text mimics the behaviour we would have used to create header images.
